UFO: Incursion is an alien warfare RPG/Strategy game with a fair share of strategy and economic factors, featuring Resource Management and tactical combat. The game will put humans against hostile alien forces which want to control Earth. You are in command of a small special unit (AEGIS) which was founded many years ago but has been forgotten. Now Aegis has been reactivated and they have to face the alien threat. To be successful you will have to manage all resources and such as material and human. You also have to research and manufacture your own technology and any technology acquired from the alien force. The game is being developed in Java and OpenGL. It is a OS independent game. Our main focus is to produce a game that will run on any platform. Mission Statement Incursion is inspired by the 'X-COM' series produced by Mythos and Microprose. The first game of the series, 'UFO: Enemy Unknown', is a classic and probably, is one of the best RPG games ever created. UFO: Incursion is written by enthusiasts for anyone who cares to play it. Anyone can contribute to the game - currently it is being written and is in the early stages of development, as such all contribution is welcome. Release Statement This document has been created for the purpose of creating a guide line for game creation as well as detailed story line information, it is intended to be a hub for information on the game development, and will be updated in accordance to completion of the game functions with special markers to represent completed sections of work. There are no current release. The Game Incursion is a game that is reminiscent of the original X-Com series. It is our intent to create a game that far surpasses the original’s… Indeed this game is not a clone of the original(s), but it is inspired by these wonderful games. It is not our intent to rip off the original team of amazing designers so we are going to rebuild the game from the ground up, this will give us the same style of game but with a fresh feel and powerful engines. It is our goal to recreate the immersing atmosphere the original X-Com games had. |
